Sally's Story

I was diagnosed with Lyme disease in late December 2012, after two months of extreme fatigue, muscle aches, and mood swings. After two and a half unsuccessful months on oral antibiotics and a military move that brought me to southern Arizona, I found Shea Medical through an online Lyme forum.

I enrolled in an eight-week treatment program that included IVs, therapeutic lymphatic massages, nutritional supplementation, chiropractic work, and detoxification through an infrared sauna. Eight weeks later, I had a negative Western Blot, significantly reduced viral loads, and all the energy that I thought I would never see again.

Everything about my experience at Shea was exceptional, from the amicability and attentiveness of the staff, to the unique and nuanced expertise of Dr. Schwengel, to the supportive community of fellow patients, to the effectiveness of the treatments themselves.

My experience at Shea not only helped me to overcome the symptoms of my Lyme disease, but it completely changed my perspective on health and medicine. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have stumbled across this facility and would recommend it to anyone who has had to suffer from a prolonged bout with Lyme.
